Guti Goes Blaugrana: He Leaves TV and Changes His Style. Pedrerol Understands.

Guti receives an offer from a club that wears the blue-maroon jersey.

José María Gutiérrez, known as Guti, is considering an offer to return to his profession as a coach. His new experience would force him to leave El Chiringuito and DAZN.

On DAZN, Guti enlightens us with his knowledge and analytical commentary on Real Madrid matches. On El Chiringuito, he brings out his acidic and spicy side, peppered with anecdotes that only he knows.

Since his last experience as a coach at Almería, Guti has felt comfortable in front of the microphone and the cameras; he even enjoys it. But his desire to become an elite coach is stronger than himself.

He Would Train a Blue-Maroon Team

His life could take a 180-degree turn if the offer from San Lorenzo de Almagro to coach in Argentina is finally confirmed. This would be an offer that would involve coaching a team that wears a blue-maroon jersey.

Leandro Romagnoli has just resigned as San Lorenzo coach because his player Francisco Fydriszewski ignored his instructions. Muniain was about to take a penalty in the 94th minute that could have given San Lorenzo the win. Fydriszewski took the ball from him and kicked it in Panenka style.

The goalkeeper guessed his intention and San Lorenzo was left without victory. And coach Romagnoli was very angry, to the point of resigning from his position.

Francisco Fydriszewski apologized on his social networks: “I want to apologize to the fans of San Lorenzo and all my teammates. I know that the way I executed the penalty was reckless and I harmed the team.” But the damage had already been done.

San Lorenzo is currently in 24th place in the table, with 18 points from 17 games. It's been eliminated from both Copa Libertadores and Copa Argentina.

Muniain Asks for His Transfer

Precisely, according to TyC Sports, Muniain was the one who recommended San Lorenzo to contact Guti to replace Romagnoli. Guti has already decided: yes.

There aren't many other options and the proposal to Guti has all the signs to be accepted. Guti is burning with desire to sit back in the dugout, even if that means being away from microphones, cameras and sets.

Guti decided to become a coach when he finished his career as a footballer. He coached Real Madrid's Juvenil A in 2017 and won the League, the Cup and the Champions League.

Guti was hoping for promotion to Castilla, but the club disagreed. He then left for Turkish Besiktas, where he had already played, as an assistant coach to Senol Günes.

Almería drafted him to promote the team to First Division, but he was fired before the end of the season. He hasn't coached since 2020.

The Story of a Photo with Guti in Barcelona

Now he has the opportunity to coach a blue-maroon team in Argentina.

Guti wore the jersey of Barcelona's Peña in Torrejón (a blaugrana team, naturally), when he was a child. Those who managed that team claim that "Guti was a Barça fan".

He then said that "they used to give me a rag or anything that worked as a jersey." However, the culer club officials claim that he went to the club to watch all of Barça's matches.

Later, Guti himself would clarify: "When you don't have money to buy jerseys and you want to play with your friends, any jersey will do.

He then added: "The only memories I have of that photo are how much fun I had with my friends. The true memories I lived were thanks to my Madrid.

"Trash from cheap journalism that only likes to spread shit. I already said it in a press conference and I say it now: I'm sending poppies to all of them."
