Modric is Up to Date: Florentino Has His 18-years-Younger Replacement Ready

Real Madrid doesn't want to repeat the traumatic experience of Toni Kroos's exit. They want Modric's replacement now

He could be his father: Modric is 39 while his replacement at Real Madrid is 21.

The Croatian midfielder has already been informed. Real Madrid has already decided who will be his replacement when he leaves Bernabéu next summer.

Florentino is Concerned about Toni Kroos's experience

Florentino doesn't want to suffer next year the same way he did in 2024 with the Kroos's absence. The German player's departure this summer has caused Ancelotti many headaches. It hasn't been easy to replace a player like him.

Things have to be different with Modric, so Florentino wants to have his replacement ready before Luka leaves Real Madrid, presumably to end his career with a gold retirement at Cesc Fàbregas's Como.

Six goals and one assist so far this season confirm that last season was no flash in the pan, as it consolidates Florian Wirtz's status as a world star.

His contract ends in 2027 and Bayer Leverkusen is asking for 150 million euros for him. Real Madrid and Bayern Munich are finalists to this bidding and Florentino knows that he can lower that amount by adding players to the deal.

The 150-million Price Tag Will be Cheaper for Real Madrid

In fact, it was precisely at Bayer Leverkusen where Carvajal earned a place at Real Madrid after his year on loan (2012-13).

Florentino is willing to repeat the experience with other talents from the youth team. In addition, the presence of Xabi Alonso on the German bench makes things easier.

The player has no doubts: He knows Real Madrid is interested and feels flattered. But Bayern have forced him to think things over.

Perhaps the time hasn't yet come to leave Germany.

And the situation is now at this point. Wirtz is desperate to become Modric's successor and Bayern is trying to keep him in the Bundesliga so that he can play for at least three more years before making a leaping at the Spanish offer.

Michael Reschke, former sporting director of Bayern, Bayer, Stuttgart and Schalke 04, has made this very clear:

"Although Bayern is one of the top five clubs in Europe, Wirtz is thinking abot joining Real Madrid," he said.

Reschke has gone further and has confirmed that Florian Wirtz isn't going to Real Madrid alone. He'll be joined by Xabi Alonso as Carlo Ancelotti's replacement. If this is confirmed, Wirtz's doubts will disappear immediately.

Modric is Informed about Everything

What's certain is that Wirtz is not signing for Manchester City. Wirtz is Txiki Begiristain's last target before he leaves office this summer. He considers him as the ideal replacement for Kevin De Bruyne, who will leave for Arab soccer in July.

Luka Modric is fully aware of all this and has already informed the club that he doesn't intend to stop playing for the Croatian national team. And he knows that this is tantamount to forcing his exit from the Bernabéu.

But Modric also has a team for next season. His idea is to play for two years at Cesc Fàbregas's Como, who's already arranged everything with him. He may not end up at Real Madrid, but he'll end up in a paradise.
